Counselors in Training
Poulter CIT’s must be graduates of our High Adventure Program and at least 16 years old.
Make the transition from camper to staff while helping to make the camp experience as special as possible for younger campers. CIT’s will participate in some of staff training and find out what it takes to become a great counselor. From there, they return to the wilderness to enhance the skills they learned in High Adventure. During the week long trip CIT’s will have the chance to do more training and teamwork skills before returning to camp. During the four-week program session, CIT’s will work with the younger campers to learn firsthand about the challenges and rewards of leading a group of campers. This is a chance to grow into a productive camp counselor and a responsible young adult. The CIT Program is an opportunity for former campers to show their leadership skills in a new arena. The transition from camper to counselor requires maturity, and it is essential that there be a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
