Adventure Bound
Approximate Ages 12-14
Adventure Bound is in exciting 10-day adventure that takes campers to the high alpine tundra of the Flattops Wilderness. The first couple of days of the session are spent at our facility in Steamboat Springs. The group participates in teambuilding exercises, and learn the backcountry skills that will be important for the backpacking element of the journey. Campers will then spend a day swimming in Steamboat Lake and horseback riding through beautiful aspen groves.
The travel begins with an exciting day of rock climbing and kayaking. Then the group move on to their 5-day backpacking trip through the spectacular Flattops Wilderness. Campers will spend their days hiking and camping along numerous high mountain streams and lakes including the second largest natural body of water in Colorado, Trapper’s Lake. On the second to last day of the trip the group will summit 12,000 foot Flattop Mountain.
Adventure Bound is lead by experienced and competent instructors who possess advanced wilderness skills, a love for the mountains and a commitment to providing a safe, fun experience for young people. Groups consist of 2 or 3 trip leaders and 6 to 9 campers.
